July 29 – August 3, 2008
Spring is here and so is baseball season! We are looking for 6 teams to participate in our 2nd Annual 12 & under, and 10 & under House League All-Star Tournament, on July 29- August 3, 2008! The total cost for each team will be $300, which will cover the cost of the baseballs, umpires, and trophies. To reserve your spot, we need the attached registration form completed and $150 deposit mailed to the tournament directors by June 15th. We will select the first 6 teams to mail us the $150 deposit and registration form. If your registration is not one of the first 6 received, you will be contacted by e-mail or phone and your deposit will be refunded. The balance of the registration cost, which will guarantee your spot, will be due July 9th. Tournament

Location: The
Irondequoit Fields are as follows: 10
& under- Ivan Green School located on Brown Rd off E. Ridge Rd. 12
& under- McAvoy Park located on the corner of Empire Blvd. and Winton Rd.
All 12 & under games are at McAvoy Park.
10 & under are guaranteed one game at McAvoy Park. Tournament Format: The
Tournament will be round robin pool play and everyone will be guaranteed 4
games. Each team will play their division opponents once and one non-division
game. Seedings of the six teams
will go as follows: the 3rd place teams of both age groups will play there
fourth game against each other under the lights on Saturday night. First Place
will play Second place of the opposite division in two semi final games on
Sunday afternoon for both age groups. The
championship for both ages will conclude on the turf and under the lights on
Sunday evening at McAvoy Park. In the event that two teams shall have the same
record, they shall be seeded based upon their records in head to head
competition between them. In the event that two teams remain tied after the
previous tiebreakers, then seeding shall be determined by fewest runs allowed. Tournament Highlights v

Championships
Games under the lights Tournament Rules: This
is a 12 yr. old and 10 yr. old and under tournament, cut off age is April 30th,
2008. All games will be played under standard youth
baseball rules except as may be provided in the following local rules. The
umpire's decision shall be final and binding in the event of a dispute. v
All
games will be scheduled for six innings, with no new inning starting after the
two-hour mark from the beginning of the scheduled start time. Four complete
innings equals a complete game if the game has not concluded within two hours.
There is a twelve run mercy rule after four innings of play. v
Batting: Teams shall bat in continuous lineup with free substitution. Each team
must play at least 10 Players. All players must play at least three innings in
the field. There shall be no
designated hitters or substitution of batters. No large barrel bats shall be
permitted, and barrel size shall not exceed Cal Ripken League specification. v
Base running: 12 & under-shall
be permitted to leave for the next base once
the pitch crosses home plate. In the event of a violation, the umpire
shall declare the play dead and the runner is returned to the base. The pitch
shall stand as called. 10 and
under-shall be permitted to leave for the next base once the ball crosses
the plate and is a playable ball by the catcher.
Any ball going beyond the umpire is a dead ball and runners will be
returned to the base from which they came.

No advancement to home on a steal.
Headfirst slides are not permitted except
upon return to a base for EITHER DIVISION. v
Pitching: Pitchers shall pitch no more than six innings in a day and
three innings in a game. A single pitch to a single batter in any
inning constitutes an inning pitched. No
pitcher shall pitch more than 9 innings before the championship game. No
pitcher shall pitch more than 12 innings in the Tournament. There are no
restrictions on breaking balls. If a pitcher hits three batters in an inning,
that pitcher shall be removed from the game.
